the walls and floor are gay

extremely hard clap

 ow

so, this shit is in the assets for casual fluffies. it's the big feature for v0.5, and today, we're going to find out exactly what it is, because i'm going to program all of it into the game over the next few days. it's pretty easy to tell what it is from the file names and the fact that the first thing i ever referred to this game as was 'the latest fluffsim ripoff', so i'm just going to tell you.

it's machines. right now, there are different kinds of fluffy sensors for age, race, sex, and some other stuff, logic gates for advanced fuckery, a button that fluffies can step on, a door, and a freakishly powerful fan. let's do it!

the first thing the system needed was a menu so that it was possible to easily access the different blocks. i made the blocks, but i didn't make the menu, so naturally, i took what i had already created for the pause menu and cobbled together a horrendous piece of shit.

who cares, it'll get the job done until i can stop smashing my hands against the keyboard long enough to draw something better. after making that, i removed all the bitch buttons and replaced them with actual buttons that could affect the tile used when building. the first tile i implemented for this system was grass, and the cool thing about that was that plants could grow on it, just like the grass on the ground, because i knew i would do this someday and designed the plant growth script with it in mind.

after populating the menu with a few tiles, it actually looked pretty cool! all i had to do was add extra functionality to it.

several hours of fucking around and generally doing everything but adding extra functionality to it later, i went back in and spruced things up, ending up with a pretty neat system. not only was there no longer a reason for the hold-shift bullshit of past releases, it also looked pretty cool, and had brand-new sound effects.

yes, the first thing ever built with this revolutionary building system was a giant dick. the soft floor tile is pleased. although i didn't get around to programming the machines, everything i need to get started is in place, and i already have a solid idea of how all of it is going to work, so it'll probably happen tomorrow.

  1. Btw any way to add an instant kill feature for unwanted fluffies? I selectively breed alicorns, it just gets annoying slamming 20 fluffies against the wall. The more violent the better. Thanks!
