fluffies that are the definition of not casual

FLUFFY BUSINESS. in v0.9, players will be able to buy and sell shit, as well as babysit and/or torture random strangers' fluffies. in other news, the tray has been changed from alpha-testing muddy purple to what-the-fuck-am-i-doing-with-my-life gray.

but first, i need to take a closer look at fluffy code, because i'm noticing some serious lag that cannot be justified by the relatively small numbers of fluffies in my worlds. my game can barely support two dozen fluffies before the game starts lagging, which is ridiculous, so i'm going to optimize some shit. the first thing i did was take most of the entire update loop and put it at the beginning of the fluffy ai's decision routine. along the way, i fixed the fact that fillies' pregnancies didn't progress when they were raped and impregnated.

changing that didn't do jack shit for the performance, and in fact, i think it actually made it worse, so i went deeper into the fluffy ai and tried to figure it out. i ended up integrating seeking out fluffies to talk to/hit on with the main "seeking" function in the fluffy action script. that did basically nothing. even disabling all the fluffy scripts entirely was fucking creepy, but ultimately only did so much to help, so i concluded that it was just unity having to keep track of all the individual parts of the fluffy models themselves. bummer.

after wasting an hour of my life on that, i decided to go back to adding the functionality for that shitty suitcase thing i added to the tool tray.

...or waste another day of my life goofing off and redrawing all the fluffy manes and eyebrows, then discovering that stallions were capable of asking chirpies to have sex with them. in addition to fixing that, i expanded on some rape-related interactions and gave fluffies with very low morality the ability to attack others for being afraid of them, contributing to the rapey submissive-type behavior you see when a fluffy makes another fluffy its bitch.

among other things, i actually fixed pillowed mares being nursed on by alicorn foals, because the fix i released didn't actually work. i also made foals nursing from unwilling milkbags suffer a morality decrease, tweaked some sex stuff, and lowered the morality threshold for raping mares from 60 to 40.

don't mind the dead body, that was an accident. the loss of the shine in the eyes was unintentional, but ultimately a very nice touch.

as if i couldn't get sidetracked enough, i added a sexuality stat that affects sex drive gain and made it combine with extremely low morality to create a rare "degenerate whore" personality type for mares. i dunno, maybe fluffy semen induces miscarriages? either way, these are the kinds of mares who actively express hatred towards their unborn foals and start fucking all over the place in an attempt to make themselves miscarry. on the other end of the spectrum, we've got the ones who take their sweet time getting it on and can only think about all the babies they're going to have as they're getting destroyed by horny stallions.

after watching a borderline whore mare agree to special huggies in the middle of giving birth, i touched some stuff up and actually started working on fluffy business. the first thing i added was a mechanic that would allow fluffies to be loaded from their variable files. i had no way to test it without a pool of fluffy files to actually choose from, so i implemented a system of storing fluffies from the world within that pool.

...or i would have, if it weren't for the code being a bitch and not finding an object that was very clearly right the fuck there. i could even get a reference to it using the exact same method and print out its name, but it just didn't want to be set as a variable. in the end, i managed to fix it and was able to spawn this thing, which died immediately.

as it would turn out, that was because of my fluffy prefab somehow getting fucked. the true form of the default fluffy was a microscopic speck that fell through the floor. now, all i needed was a way to supply an actual fluffy file for the thing, and that would come in the form of storing fluffies. i added a new mode to the player controls, set up some shit to trigger it, and...

success! i can now freeze fluffies in these convenient little color-coded ballsacks for later use. now, all i have to do is touch up the interface a little and we're good to go. none of this persists across sessions, but we'll deal with that in v1.0.
